Philosophy

For several years I have had many people suggest that I share my teaching ideas.  I have always considered this suggestion to be rather conceited, but as I near the end of my teaching career I figure that my 30 years (nearly) teaching experience may account for something and if one person can benefit from my ideas then it has to be a good thing.

I do not know it all!!  To say so would be an outright lie, given the ever changing nature of education and the expectations of our community and employers.  I am still,  after nearly 30 years, learning about teaching.

Being flexible and open to new ideas will assist anyone, regardless of what career they are in, will be of great benefit.  Looking at different resources and having the will to change these ideas to 'fit' your classroom, will save time and keep you thinking in terms of the needs of your students.

I will at times in this blog refer to certain programs, people and resources which I have found very useful in my classrooms.  If you want any information about these sources I am happy to point you in the right direction, but I cannot give you explicit information about these programs as I do not have the right to do so.
